Timberlake has developed custom applications for hundreds of associations that “stand alone” or integrate into our existing software editions. Examples include specialized API’s, event-specific registration forms, directories, reporting and much more. What is most amazing about Timberlake’s architecture is that each client can have modifications installed without affecting other Timberlake clients. Our experience has led us to a thorough understanding of how and what makes a custom application development project successful for your association.
We understand there is more that goes into a project than coding. Your business requirements, goals, people, and processes all have an impact on how successful the completed product will be. Our project definition services are broken into four key areas:
Association Requirements Analysis Review Ensures your custom software will be the right solution for the problem that needs solving. Understanding your association and its processes is the catalysis for innovative design that will surpass your staff and member’s expectations.
Feature List Timberlake will create a detailed list of features categorized area of functions. Each feature is prioritized to determine if it is required in the initial development stage or could be installed at a later date. In many cases, visual story boards are developed to provide a literal image of the multiple interfaces planned for development. A picture is worth a 1000 words and this process maximizes the value of the project and increases overall comprehension of scope for your association and our team.
Architecture Definition Defining an efficient system architecture means that future enhancements and updates will be significantly easier and cost effective to manage. This definition process also guarantees full and seamless integration with existing Timberlake software features.
Cost Estimation Once the above tasks have been completed, Timberlake is able to provide our association clients a precise fixed-price estimate on what the development of the project will cost. We are so confident our technical design phase is accurate we provide you with a “not-to exceed” bid. Meaning the number we give is the maximum amount you will ever pay for the defined project. If it costs less then you pay less.
Ready, Set, Build! Our project development services are broken into three key areas:
1Development The architecture definition specifications created in the project definition stage become an exciting reality! Timberlake’s developers are located in-house in Northern Virginia. We’re proud to maintain total control and expertise over the entire development process.
2Internal Quality Assurance We’re human too! All of Timberlake’s code is tested for multiple criteria including browser compatibility, stability and usability. That’s a lot of important “ilities!”
3Delivery/ Client Acceptance Testing Timberlake hosts a webinar with your association to walk through the new application. Were the association’s business requirements satisfied? Do the features work as intended? Your satisfaction gives us satisfaction.
